The water levels at Goose Lake are about normal and the wild rice is looking good. We hope to start picking by late August and finish in late September.

Jim’s glory was short lived. Ed Husting caught this 31 inch walleye second cast below Whitedog Falls.

The really great news at Poirier Lake this season is that the eagles are back in the nest next to the cabin.

Today, we went to Poirier Lake to get it ready for the the first group. We take the dock to a sheltered bay each fall and remove the anchor pipes. In the spring we return the dock and reinstall the anchor pipes.

May 17, we are back from visiting family in Massachusetts and ready to work. The weather is fantastic and Bill got a sunburn working at Goose Lake today. The water level is very low.

It is so nice having a home in the bush. The local male partridge has been drumming at regular intervals every day. Louise took this picture of his display in our driveway.
