    We spent the week getting the outposts shut down. Monroe still has guests so it will have to wait. The last group of fishermen left Goose Lake on September 14 (one day later than planned due to weather).

    Yes, we are still here and the fishing is still hot even though the weather has cooled to the mid-50s. Check out this 26 inch walleye caught at the north end of Nechigona Lake.

    Back at Goose Lake we have a full camp this week and walleye fishing has lots of action and some big ones mixed in. For the first time this year a group ventured to the north end of Nechigona Lake and were rewarded with this 27 inch walleye.

    The weather is a little cooler today but the fishing is hot. Several guests remarked that today was the best day of fishing they ever had. The photo is a 26 1/2 inch walleye at the Honey Hole.  Yes, hundreds of nice walleyes every day in JULY.

    There were several nice Northerns caught this week. Our telephone service is back up and running. We have smoke in the air and our phone service goes in and out from forest fires west of us.

    Another enjoyable morning of fishing with an afternoon fish fry. The largest walleye this morning was 27 inches landed by first-timer, Dutch.

    Great change over this morning (as usual). The crew coming in got their groceries from A1 Foods in Ear Falls and they were very pleased. Don’t hesitate to order groceries from A1 Foods they do a great job. Here is a Monroe Lake sunset from earlier this week.

    The weather is still fantastic. Warm but not hot with light winds each day. Here is one of the 28 inch walleye caught this week. This one was right in the fast water below White Dog Falls.
